Manage Custom properties

Manager An administrative role responsible for managing workflows, feedback, and document assignments. users in the administrators role can manage the Custom properties settings for the Panviva database.

Note: You must have advanced permissions to access the Admin menu and update Feedback settings.

Custom properties are useful in searches. When you set up Search > Search result settings the custom property displays to the user as a Fields matched on result.

Manage Custom properties

  1. Open Panviva Manager.

    The Document Management window displays.

  2. Click Admin.

    The Administration window displays.

  3. Expand the Custom properties section.

  4. Choose the next step:

    • Import custom properties
      This was once useful when customers had multiple databases and they could easily recreate settings from one database to another.

      Note: This feature is no longer functional as custom properties can no longer be exported.

    • Add, edit or remove custom properties

Manage custom properties

  1. Select Manage custom properties.

  2. Choose one of the following actions:

Add a custom property

  1. Click Add for the type of entity that you want to add the property to (Document, Folder, Image, or User/role).

  2. Complete the following fields:

    Field

    Instructions

    Name

    Type the custom property name.

    Description

    Optional. Type a custom property description.

    Type

    Select either:

    Display in Panviva About page

    Select the check box to display the custom property in the Viewer A user role with read-only access to Panviva documents who can also submit feedback.. Note.

  3. Click Save. The custom property is added to the Panviva database.

Remove a custom property

  1. Select the custom property.

  2. Click Remove. The custom property is highlighted by a strikethrough and red Removed label.

  3. Click Save. The custom property is removed.

Edit a custom property

  1. Select the custom property.

  2. Click .

  3. Change the properties as necessary.

  4. Click Save.
