Create and maintain users individually

Individual users may be created in the Users tab:

Automatically

If self-registry is activated on your database, when a new user opens Viewer but has not previously been added, they will be prompted to provide their details, including:

Manually

Users in the rolecreators role can create and maintain users and their role assignments individually via the More menu menu in the Users tab.

Maintain users

Users in the rolecreators role can:

  • Create and delete users;
  • Change user details such as login, name and email addresses;
  • Set and change user passwords;
  • Add and remove users to/from a role; and
  • Export user information to a .csv file.

Maintain user properties

Users in the rolecreators role can set and change user properties in the Users tab in the Details & Actions window. The properties include:

Roles that the user is associated to.

Training objectives

An online learning function, this allows you to assign a learning document to a user.

Readers

The users who can see any properties of a user but cannot change them.

Writers

The users who can see any properties of a user and change them.

Note: Writers automatically have reader permissions.

Notifications

This allows you to assign a document change notification to a user.

Note: This is the same functionality that is available in the 'Documents' tab in Details & Actions > Notifications.
