About Data Extractor Component

The Data Extractor component allows the Upland AccuRoute server to read and process bar codes and identify values in scanned document pages. It then makes this information available to the destination connector for use. The destination connector decodes the information and then routes and indexes the scanned document in the specified target repository.

The Data Extractor also allows the server to read and process bar-coded Routing Sheets generated by an external client application. This integration provides an alternate way of routing documents to the target repository using the server, which is useful in situations where the user has no access to the Client to generate a Routing Sheet.

The server installs the Data Extractor component by default. You can have up to four instances of this component. You cannot modify its settings.

Note: A license is required to use the Data Extractor component.

Configuring the Data Extractor component

The Data Extractor component allows for the extraction and mapping of bar-coded data from documents that pass through the server.

This component can be set with a Regular Expression designed to detect a preset value in the third-party vendor bar codes. The advantage of using Regular Expressions is that it allows Upland AccuRoute to support third-party vendor bar codes without the need for software updates.
