About Test Message

Administrators can use Test Message to send test messages using the Upland AccuRoute Server Administrator. Because Test Message generate real messages that originate on the server, you do not need a client application (like Microsoft Outlook installed on the server) to send test messages.

Note: You can use Test Message only on servers with fax capability.

Troubleshooting failed faxes

When troubleshooting fax failures, it is beneficial to use a test message to quickly send a fax and test the server. After you send a fax using Test Message, you must go to the destination and verify that the fax was delivered. Verification is necessary since the server can only confirm that the fax was delivered. It cannot guarantee that the fax printed on the recipient's fax machine or reached the email account of the recipient.

If the fax journal indicates that the fax was delivered successfully, but the fax does not reach the intended recipient, troubleshoot the situation in the following order.

  • Check the destination address in the Test Message to make sure you are looking at the appropriate destination.

  • If the destination is correct, check that the fax machine, mail server, or other device is functioning correctly.
