Adding a HP LAN Fax Connector

You can add a HP LAN Fax connector by using the Server Administrator > Connectors node.

To add a HP LAN Fax connector

  1. Start the Server Administrator:
    On the Start menu, click Upland AccuRoute > Upland AccuRoute Server Administrator.

  2. On the console, expand the Server Administrator.

  3. Right click Connectors. Select New AccuRoute Server connector > HP LAN fax Connector. The Server Address dialog box appears.

  4. Click Next. The Display Name dialog box appears.

    Alternately, if you want the connector to run on a remote server, click Remote Server and enter the server name.

  5. Click Next.
  6. In the Name text box, enter an appropriate name.

  7. Click Next. The HPFSCAN Folder dialog box appears.

  8. Enter the local path HPFSCAN folder (for example C:\faxfiles\hplanfax). You can also browse to the folder and select it.  needed.
    The folder is shared by the server and the  HP 9100C Digital Sender device.

Note: You must create this share folder before you create the connector. The connector does not create the folder. It also does not check to see if it exists.

  1. Click Next. The Congratulations dialog box appears.

  2. Click Finish. The HP LAN fax connector is listed in the details pane.

Configuring the HP LAN Fax connector

You can configure the HP LAN Fax connector by using the Server Administrator > Connectors node.

To configure the HP LAN Fax connector

  1. Start the Server Administrator.
    On the Start menu, click Upland AccuRoute > Upland AccuRoute Server Administrator.

  2. On the console, expand the Server Administrator tree.

  3. Select Connectors. The details pane lists the connectors licensed in your environment.

  4. Double-click the HP LAN fax connector. The Properties dialog box appears.

  5. Click Advanced to open the Advanced dialog box.

  6. In the text box enter the location of the shared HPFSCAN folder. If the folder is located on a different system (that is the folder and the server are located in separate systems), use UNC format (\\server name\folder_path\) to enter the path.

  7. Click OK to save your changes.

The shared folder does not need to reside on the server. Also, multiple Digital Senders can share this directory.

Note: The server must have read and write permissions to this directory.
