Configuring a Fax Message Subject and Comments

Depending on your fax server or fax service provider, you can configure fax messages to have a subject and some additional comments. The subject you provide when faxing becomes the subject of the fax message. The comments you provide become the body part of the fax message.

The following table lists the subject and message body variables for the T.37 Fax connector.

Configuring the subject and comment details

You can configure the subject or comment details by using the Server Administrator > Connectors node.

To configure the subject and comment details (optional)

  1. Start the Server Administrator.
  1. Click Connectors to list all connectors.
  2. Double-click the T.37 Fax connector to open the Properties dialog box.
  3. Open the Options dialog box.
  4. If you want fax messages to have a subject, go to the Subject box and type %subject%.
  5. If you want fax messages to have a message body, go to the Message Body box and type %comment%.
  6. Click OK to save your changes.

When you send a fax using the T.37 Fax connector, you will be prompted to enter the subject which becomes the subject of your message. You are also prompted to enter additional comments which become the body of your message.

Testing the Fax message

You can test the Fax messaged by using the Server Administrator > Connectors node.

To test the fax message

  1. Start the Server Administrator.

  • On the Start menu, click Upland AccuRoute > Upland AccuRoute Server Administrator.

  1. Click Connectors to list all connectors.
  2. Double-click the T.37 Fax connector to open the Properties dialog box.
  3. Open the Options dialog box.
  4. Click Test to open the Define Test Properties wizard.
  5. In the Sender email box, enter the email of the person sending the message.
  6. Click Next. The text boxes you see depend on the Email filter variable you selected in the Options section of the T37 Connector Properties dialog box. The default is prDestinationLocalized.
  7. Click Finish to open the Test Connection wizard with the fax details page.
  8. In the Subject box, type a descriptive subject.
  9. In the Comment text box, enter a brief comment.
  10. Click Test Send to send the test fax.
