Configuring SSR Connector Settings

SSR connectors use the TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol) protocol to transmit faxes from one Upland AccuRoute server to another. For SSR connectors to be able to communicate successfully, they must have the same TCP/IP port number.

The default port number assigned to all SSR connectors is 315.

Usually, you will not need to change the port number. If you do need to change the port number setting, you must ensure that all SSR connectors in your environment are set to the same number.

Note: Make sure that port 315 is allowed through the firewall for your environment.

You can configure the SSR connector settings by using the Server Administrator > Connectors node.

To configure the SSR connector settings

  1. Start the Server Administrator.
On the Start menu, click Upland AccuRoute > Upland AccuRoute Server Administrator.

  2. On the console, expand the Server Administrator tree and select Connectors. The Connectors details pane lists the connectors that are licensed with your server.

  3. Double-click the SSR connector to open the Properties dialog box. The Properties dialog box appears.

  4. Click Advanced option.

  5. Select Send to other SSR Connectors to allow the server to send faxes to other AccuRoute Servers from where the message will get delivered to their final destinations.

  6. Select Receive from other SSR Connectors to allow the server to receive faxes from other AccuRoute Servers.

  7. In the TCP/IP Port box, type the port number, if necessary. This number is used by the AccuRoute Servers to send and/or receive faxes.

Note: Do not modify the default setting unless Technical Support instructs you to do so.

  1. In the Message Timeout box, enter the number of minutes you want this SSR connector to wait before it fails a message bound for another SSR connector. The default is 60 minutes.

The timeout affects the sending SSR connector's record of the fax only; the receiving connector might still successfully process and send the fax after the timeout has passed.

  2. Click OK.

Note: You must configure the settings for all SSR connectors in your environment. For example, if you have a server with an SSR connector in Massachusetts and a server with an SSR connector in California, you would need to configure the settings on both SSR connectors.
