Modifying Rule Properties

A rule consists of the following properties and options that you can use to modify and enhance its performance. You can select a rule in any of the folders to modify its properties.

General Properties

You can use General properties to:

  • Rename the rule by using the Name box.

  • Change the rule location to a different folder by using the RuleSet drop-down list

  • Change the priority of the rule in a folder by using the Order box.

By default, rules are prioritized in increments of ten. You can change the increments to any value you want. For example, let’s say you have a current rule with an Order value of 30. You want the new rule you are working on to be executed before the rule with an Order value of 30. You assign the new rule an Order value of 29.

Note: The leading zeroes are not required when you assign new Order values to your rules.

Criteria properties

You can use the Criteria Expression box to update the rule criteria by using the AND/OR operators and Insert button.

  • Use the Insert button to add additional system or user-defined properties.

Actions properties

You can use Deliver > Actions properties to:

  • Select a different connector by using the Connector drop-down list.

  • Select a different format by using the Format drop-down list.

  • Allow a sender to override the format of a document to a different format.

Note: If this option is enabled, WebApps, AccuRoute Desktop, and device users can change the document format before delivery when using these supported applications and devices.

  • Select when you want to include a template, for example, a fax cover page template by using any of the following Include Template options.

    • Never

    • Always (Default)

    • Use Sender Settings (Allows sender to choose whether or not to use a template.)

  • Select whether you want to include document thumbnails with notifications when failures occur by using any of the following Include Document(s) options.
