Modifying Server Properties

You can modify server properties by using the Server Administrator > Properties dialog box.

To modify server properties

  1. Start the Server Administrator.
    On the Start menu, click Upland AccuRoute > Upland AccuRoute Server Administrator.

  2. On the Server Administrator tree, right-click the server name. The Properties shortcut menu appears.

  3. Select Properties. The Server Properties dialog box appears.

  4. Select any of the following tabs.
    • Settings
    • Address Book
    • Cluster
  5. Specify the appropriate parameters as needed.
  6. Click OK.

You can modify the following settings.

Originator for email messages generated by server

The server generates notification messages for various events and sends them to users through the connectors for SMTP. The display name and email address associated with these notification messages can be set in the server properties. It is recommended that these attributes are set using a valid email address so users can reply to notification messages if they require assistance. (The default display name is Message Server and the default email address is MessageServer.)

Email Address  - Specify the email address.

Display Name - Specify the display name.

WebApps

You can add the WebApps URL to the Server Administrator by using the WebApps URL box. Once you add the link, email notification messages for deficiency recipients generated by WebApps operators will contain a link to access the deficiency.

URL - Specify the WebApps Client URL; for example, http://WebServerName/WebAppsClient.

Manage Server Profile

To configure server profiles

  1. Click Configure.  The Server Profile Properties dialog box appears.

  2. Modify and configure the following options as needed.

    • Access Codes

    • Billing Codes

    • Cover Pages

    • Cover Variables

    • Permissions

    • Additional Notification

    • Additional Recipients

  1. Select the Allow sender to request fax previews option, if necessary.

  2. Click OK.

 

You can modify the following Address Book options.

Enable Address Book Lookups

Select this option if you want to allow look ups. If you enable this option, you must also select the type of items that should be looked up. They can be Users, Lists/Groups or Folders/DBs.

Window Title

In the Window Title box, type a custom label for the look up window. The default value is Global Address List.

This setting is used by all server and client applications (including the Server Administrator and FaxCenter)  that use the Lookup Manager component to execute address book lookups.

Refresh Period

In the Refresh Period box, specify a refresh period in minutes. The value you specify here is the is the interval in which the Address Book Manager updates the Address Book cache.

When you change and save the refresh period value, the Address Book Manager service immediately initiates an Address Book refresh and restarts the interval counter. For example, a refresh period as 2400 minutes means the that the Address Book Manager service will refresh the Address Book cache as soon as the value is set and saved and once every 2400 minutes.

Since the Address Book refresh is a resource intensive process, we recommend that the refresh process occur in reasonable time intervals. For example, it is inefficient to set the refresh interval to 10 minutes as the refresh operation may take longer than the interval itself. To optimize server resources, consider setting the refresh period to 24-hour intervals with a start time during off hours.

Display Name Format

In the Display Name Format box, enter the format to use when names are displayed in the lookup window. The default format variable is %RECIP_NAME%. It uses the value in the Name field (Exchange environments) or the FullName field (Notes Address Book).

Labeling

Specify labels the for the following items that will display in the Address Book lookup window.

  • Users - the default value is People

  • Lists / Groups - the default value is Distribution Lists

  • Folders / DBs - the default value is Public Folders.

 

You can configure the following server cluster options.

Cluster Settings

To set up a server cluster, click Setup Cluster. The Set Up Cluster dialog box appears.

Configure the cluster following the instructions in the Server Installation Guide.

Note: The process of joining a server to a cluster involves numerous steps, some of which must be performed manually. You must read the cluster setup chapter in its entirety before you set up a cluster.

Status

If the server is part of a cluster, the status section shows the current status and the details of the cluster configuration.

Options

If the server has been designated as the cluster master by the Cluster Manager, the This server is the preferred cluster master option is selected.
