About Canon Integration
Upland AccuRoute and Canon are partners in providing device users with secure document capture, fax, scan, and delivery capabilities. The Upland AccuRoute MEAP application was developed using the MEAP SDK version 5.7 and is backward compatible with Canon MFP devices only.
Users will be able to perform the following tasks at supported Canon devices.

Note: The availability of these functions is based on your company’s workflows and respective device button configurations.
Before you begin
Administrators must complete the following tasks.

Add a Canon Device Group and configure the device buttons in the Server Administrator.

Install the Upland AccuRoute MEAP Application JAR file at the device.
Note: In an effort to improve security and reliability, TLS 1.0 and 1.1 have been deprecated by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF). You are required to use or update this setting to a maximum and minimum version of TLS 1.2.
You can add a device group by using Devices on the Server Administrator tree. Adding specific devices to the group is not required for the Canon device integration. In addition, the buttons that will appear on the device’s display must be configured in the Server Administrator.
Note: You cannot have devices with different button configurations in the same device group.
To add a Canon Device Group

Start the Server Administrator.

Right-click Devices on the Server Administrator tree. The Devices shortcut menu appears.

Select New > Canon group. The New Group dialog box appears.

Type a device name in the Name box.
-
Type a description in the Description box.
-
Select a Licensing type on the Licensing drop-down list.

Select the Settings tab, specify the Application URL and other parameters.

Select the Authentication tab and specify the appropriate parameters for the device.

Select the Buttons tab and add the appropriate buttons needed for the device’s Home screen.
Note: A series of buttons appear on the list as a default set. You can add or remove buttons based on your specific workflows.

Click OK.

Use the Up and Down arrows to move the buttons as you want them to appear on the device’s Home screen.

Click OK.
You can install the Upland AccuRoute MEAP Application JAR file after the following steps have been completed.
To install the Upland MEAP Application JAR file
-
Open the device’s EWS (Embedded Web Server) by entering the device’s IP address in your browser’s address bar.

Select the Management Tools > Service Management Service option located at the bottom right of the page.

Select Install MEAP Application.

Find the Upland AccuRoute MEAP Application JAR file (\Program Files (x86)\Upland AccuRoute\DeviceClient\Installation\Canon) by using the Application File Path > Browse button.

Find the Upland AccuRoute MEAP Application license (\Program Files (x86)\Upland AccuRoute\DeviceClient\Installation\Canon) by using the License File Path > Browse button.

Select Install.

Select Yes and confirm the installation in order to proceed.

Ensure the AccuRoute application appears on the MEAP Application Management page with a Started status.

Ensure the AccuRoute MEAP button and the additional buttons that you configured in the Server Administrator appear on the device.
Note: Select Uninstall on the MEAP Application page in the AccuRoute row to uninstall the application, if necessary.
You must identify the Service URL and group name by using the Upland AccuRoute MEAP Servlet.
To configure the servlet

Select To Portal, if necessary.

Select the Basic Tools > UplandMEAPServlet option. The Upland AccuRoute Configuration page appears.

Type the Service URL in the box.

Type the Group Name in the box.

Click OK.
Alternative Configuration Method
Or you can use the double arrows (...>>) next to the AccuRoute application name on the MEAP Application Management page to access the Upland AccuRoute Configuration page.
Note: The Service URL and Group Name is the Application URL and Device Group Name you specified when the Canon Device group was added in the Server Administrator. See Add a Canon Device Group for more information.
This only affects software that uses the standard SSL/TLS communications API provided by Java language runtime. TLS 1.0/1.1 will be disabled in Java standard SSL/TLS libraries. This security update must be applied to the Java language runtime for the MEAP platform in models to be released in 2023 and updated version firmware for existing models.
To apply the TLS 1.2 setting

Open the device’s EWS (Embedded Web Server) by entering the device’s IP address in your browser’s address bar.

Select Settings/Registration on the right-side of the page. The Settings/Registration page appears.

Select Network Settings in the left pane. The Preferences: Network Settings page appears.

Select TLS Settings toward the bottom of the list. The TLS Settings page appears.

Go to the Specify Allowed Versions section.

Select Maximum Version > TLS 1.2 on the drop-down list.
-
Select Minimum Version > TLS 1.2 on the drop-down list.

Select OK.
You may need to move the AccuRoute MEAP button if it does not appear on the Home page. The installation appends the button at the end of the screen. It may not be visible if you have other buttons on the device.
To move the AccuRoute MEAP button, complete the following steps.

Select Menu on the device.
-
Select Move Buttons.
-
Use the arrows to find the AccuRoute MEAP button, if necessary.
-
Drag the AccuRoute MEAP button away from the current screen.
-
Use the arrows to find and ensure the button is on the device's Home page.
-
Select End when you are done.
You can uninstall the Upland AccuRoute MEAP application by using the Service Management Service, if necessary.
To uninstall Upland AccuRoute MEAP
-
Open the device’s EWS (Embedded Web Server) by entering the device’s IP address in your browser’s address bar.

Select the Management Tools > Service Management Service option located at the bottom right of the page. The MEAP Application Management page appears.

Find the Upland AccuRoute MEAP application.
-
Select Stop.
-
Select the AccuRoute application name. The Application/License Information page appears.
-
Go to License Information and select License Management.

Go to Disable License File and select Disable. The Are you sure you want to disable the license file message appears.

Select Yes.
-
Go to Download/Delete Disabled License File.
Note: It is recommended that you download the disabled license file to your computer before deleting it.

Select Download and save the disabled license file.

Select Delete. The Are you sure you want to delete the disabled license file? message appears.
-
Select Yes.
-
Select Back until you get to the MEAP Application Management page.
-
Select Uninstall. The Are you sure you want to uninstall AccuRoute? message appears.

Select Yes. The AccuRoute application is removed from the MEAP Application Management page.
