About Database Connector

The Database connector allows you to route inbound messages (documents and faxes) from the Upland AccuRoute Server to a SQL database.

Note: A Database connector can route inbound messages to only one table in a database. If you want to route messages to more than one table in your database, you must add additional Database connectors (one for each additional table) to your environment. To purchase the additional licenses, contact your Account Manager.

Access connectors

  1. Start the Server Administrator.
On the Start menu, click Upland AccuRoute > Upland AccuRoute Server Administrator.

  2. On the console, expand the Server Administrator tree.

  3. Select Connectors. The details pane lists the connectors that are licensed with your server.

  4. Double-click the Database connector to view its properties.

Database connector requirements

You must have the following installed and configured before you can install and use a Database connector.

  • Database - By default, the installation sets up and configures a database during the server installation.
  • If you choose to use another SQL database, the database must have all the required field names and any optional field names that correspond to the data you want to store. For instructions on setting up a database, see Creating a Database.

  • Connection String - By default, the installation sets up and configures the connection string to the database created during the server install.
  • The connection string and table name must be provided along with where you want to store the actual messages (in a folder or in the database). For instructions on how to create the connection string, see Database Connection String Guidelines.

If you choose to store messages in a folder, the Database connector saves information about the messages (including the network path to the actual message) in the database while saving the actual messages in the folder you select.

If you choose to store the messages in the database, the Database connector saves information about messages and the actual messages in the database as binary data.

  • Inbound Routing Rule - You must create an inbound routing rule. This rule will identify messages matching a specified criteria and route them to the database via the Database connector. For instructions on creating an inbound routing rule, see Creating an Inbound Routing Rule for the Database Connector.
