About DMS Connector

The DMS connector routes documents from the server to your company document management system (DMS). The inbound document must include a Routing Sheet. You can generate a Routing Sheet using the Upland AccuRoute Desktop or Web Client. For more information on the Upland AccuRoute Desktop Client, see the AccuRoute Desktop Client User Guide.

When a Desktop or Web Client user selects a DMS as the destination for a document and generates a Routing Sheet, the DMS connector creates a document ID and a pending document in the DMS. When the actual document arrives at the destination DMS server, the DMS connector locates the placeholder and replaces it with the actual document. If there are multiple documents arriving on the server, the DMS connector creates a new document ID for each subsequent document.

Note: If a user creates a Routing Sheet for multiple use, care must be taken to not delete document IDs in the DMS. The DMS connector must be able to locate the original document ID each time it routes a document with the same Routing Sheet.

You can configure a DMS connector for only one DMS. If your company uses multiple document management systems, you must configure a DMS connector for each one. To purchase additional DMS connector licenses, contact your Account Manager.

You can have up to four instances of this connector.

Note: Do not modify this setting unless a Technical Support Engineer instructs you to do so.
