About Embedded Directive Manager Component

The Embedded Directive Manager component manages Embedded Directive IDs for the server, and performs such tasks as:

  • Creating Embedded Directive IDs for routing sheets and managing them for the server. (You must use AccuRoute Desktop to generate a routing sheet.)

  • Detecting and decoding Embedded Directive IDs in routing sheets. (If a document with a routing sheet enters the server via a network scanning device, the routing sheet must be the first or last page in the scanned document.)

  • Applying Embedded Directive IDs to messages. (You can create an Embedded Directive using AccuRoute Desktop, and then apply the Embedded Directive to documents via inbound or outbound rules.)

You can have only one instance of this component. You cannot modify this setting.

Embedded Directive Manager and routing rules

The Embedded Directive Manager can scan outbound messages for Embedded Directives and decode them after you create one or more outbound routing rules. These rules specify the criteria for messages the server will route to the Embedded Directive Manager.
