About Exchange Non-delivery Reports

Exchange generates non-delivery reports, called NDRs, when it cannot deliver email messages. These non-delivery reports are returned to the Upland AccuRoute server through the Exchange connector. The Exchange connector can either reroute non-delivery reports to a known valid email address or delete them automatically. By default, non-delivery reports are deleted. However, Upland AccuRoute recommends configuring this feature with a known valid email address so that an administrator can be alerted about failures when they occur.

Specifying NDRs email address

  1. Start the Server Administrator.
On the Start menu, click Upland AccuRoute > Upland AccuRoute Server Administrator.

  2. On the console, expand the Server Administrator tree.

  3. Click Connectors. All the connectors in your environment are listed in the details pane.

  4. Double-click the Exchange connector in the details pane to open the Properties page.

  5. Click Options.

  6. In the Non-delivery Report Processing section, select Send to Specified E-mail address and enter a known valid email address.

  7. Click OK to save the changes to the Exchange connector.
