About SAP Fax via SMTP Connector

The SAP Fax via SMTP connector enables SAP users to send and receive faxes from their SAP desktop.

How it works

The SAP Fax via SMTP connector receives users' faxes from an SMTP message that contains a fax number in the To: field. The SAP interceptor picks up these messages and delivers them to a Telco connector for processing and then sends a notification back to the originator of the fax.

SAP Fax via SMTP connector requirements

You must have a SAP Fax via SMTP connector license.

Administrators must complete the following tasks.

  • Create a SAP Fax via SMTP connector
  • Register the SAP interceptor
  • Test and send a fax

Creating a SAP Fax via SMTP connector

You can create a SAP Fax via SMTP connector by using the Server Administrator > Connectors node.

To create a SAP Fax via SMTP connector

  1. Start the Server Administrator.
    On the Start menu, click Upland AccuRoute > Upland AccuRoute Server Administrator.

  2. On the console, expand the Server Administrator tree.

  3. Right-click Connectors. The Connectors shortcut menu appears.

  4. Select New AccuRoute Server connector > SAP Fax via SMTP Connector. The Create New SAP Fax via SMTP Connector dialog box appears.

  5. Select and specify the Server Address details. Use the default or if you want the connector to run on a remote server, click Remote Server and type the server name.

  6. Click Next. The Display Name dialog box appears.

  7. In the Name box, use the default or type an appropriate name.

  8. Click Next. The SAP Domain Name dialog box appears.

  9. In the SAP Domain Name box, use the default or type an appropriate domain name.

  10. Click Next. The Congratulations! dialog box appears.

  11. Click Finish. The SAP Fax via SMTP Connector is listed in the Connectors details pane.

Registering the SAP interceptor

To register the SAP interceptor

  1. Go to \Program Files (x86) > Upland Upland AccuRoute > Upland AccuRouteHP Capture and Route Server Administrator > Bin.
  2. Run the following file as an administrator: omSapInterceptorUX.dll

Testing and sending a fax

You can test and send a fax by creating an email message with the following information in the To: field.

Syntax: FAX=+Country Code Area Code Fax Number @ Server Name

Example: Fax=+14141112222@ServerName.COM

Accessing the SAP Fax via SMTP connector

You can access the SAP Fax via SMTP connector by using the Server Administrator > Connectors node.

To access the SAP Fax via SMTP connector

  1. Start the Server Administrator.
    On the Start menu, click Upland AccuRoute > Upland AccuRoute Server Administrator.

  2. On the console, expand the Server Administrator tree.

  3. Select Connectors. The details pane lists the connectors that are licensed with your server.

  4. Double-click the SAP Fax via SMTP connector to view its properties.
