About Server Services
The server uses the following Windows services.

Component Manager - Manages the server components.

Connector Manager - Manages the server connectors.

Message Server - Manages the data for and interactions between the components and the connectors.

Notification Manager - Manages the server event notification system that notifies all relevant parts of the server when statuses and other information changes.

Modem Manager - Manages the server's Modem Servers.

Address Book Manager - Manages the email address book functions for the Web Client, FaxCenter, and Registered Users.

Cluster Manager - Manages the server's clustered environment.
- Device Manager - Manages the server's device configuration and installation.
As you maintain and configure the server, you may need to stop and restart one or more services. This enables the configuration to take effect or the maintenance function to occur.
Tip: Windows services are managed through the Services applet.
Accessing server services
The Services applet is a MMC snap-in like the Server Administrator. You can add it to Microsoft Management console and save it as part of your file. If you do this, you can instantly access it from the Server Administrator.
To access the services
- Click Start > Administrator Tools > Services. The Services console opens.
Starting, stopping, restarting server services
You can start, stop, or restart server services by using Administrator Tools > Services.
To start, stop, or restart server services

Click Start > Administrator Tools > Services. The Services console opens.

Click the Name column to sort the services by name.

Locate and select the services you want to modify.

You can do one of the following service tasks.

To start a service, right-click the service. Click Start from the drop-down menu.

To stop a service, right-click the service. Click Stop from the drop-down menu..

To restart a service, right-click the service. Click Restart from the drop-down menu.

Click OK to save close the console.
