About Test Message

Administrators can use Test Message to send test messages using the Upland AccuRoute Server Administrator. Because Test Message generate real messages that originate on the server, you do not need a client application (like Microsoft Outlook installed on the server) to send test messages.

Note: You can use Test Message only on servers with fax capability.

Before you begin

Before using Test Message, you must set up a connector (Telco, Exchange, Notes, SMTP, etc.) that will deliver the fax to its final destination.

Sending a test fax using Test Message

  1. Start the Server Administrator.
    • On the Start menu, click Upland AccuRoute > Upland AccuRoute Server Administrator.
  1. Expand the Server Administrator tree.
  2. Right-click Messages. and select New > Test Message. The Test Message dialog box appears.
  3. Type an address in the Sender Email box.
  4. In the Recipients section, click the Add button.
  5. Select the Destination type: Email, Fax, Printer, or Folder.
  6. Click Next.
  7. Specify the appropriate recipient information in the boxes provided. This will vary based on the destination type selected.
  8. Click Finish. The recipient is listed. To add another recipient, click Add and repeat Steps 6 and 7.
  9. Type a subject and/or comments in the boxes provided.
  10. In the Attachments section, click the Add button.
  11. Find the document you want to attach, select it and click Open.
  12. Click Deliver.
  13. Verify that the message was delivered to the correct destination.
