Modifying Server Profile

You can modify the Server profile by using the Properties page. When you complete this procedure, the server will begin processing messages by the new settings. These settings are overridden by the settings associated with a connector profile or user profile.

To modify the Server profile

  1. Start the Server Administrator.

  2. On the Server Administrator tree, right-click the server name.

  3. Click Properties from the drop-down menu. The Properties page opens.

  4. Click Settings.

  5. In the Manage Server Profile section, click Configure. The Server Profile Properties page opens.

  6. Click Access Code option to add or remove access codes from the profile.

  7. Click Billing Code option to modify the default billing code for the profile.

  8. Click OK to save your changes.

You can modify the following Access code options by using the Server Profile Properties page.

To modify access codes

  1. Open the Server Profile Properties page.

  2. Click Access Codes.

  3. Modify the following options as needed.

Option

Description

Override server's profile settings

Select this option if you want the cover pages you add to the profile to override the cover pages in the Server Profile.

Note: If you are modifying the Server GeniProfile, you do not see this option.

Add

To add a new access code

  1. Click Add. The New Access Code page opens.

  2. In the Access Code text box, enter the access code name.

  3. Click OK.

Delete

To delete an access code

  1. Select the access code.

  2. Click Delete.

Set Default / Clear Default

To designate an access code as the default access code

  1. Select the access code.

  2. Click Set Default. A green check mark appears beside the selected access code.  The default billing code is used when the user sends a one-off fax.

When you specify a default access code, the Set Default button changes to Clear Default.

To remove a default access code

  1. Select the access code with the green check mark.

  2. Click Clear Default.

User must specify an access code to send message

Select the check box beside this option if you require that all users of this server profile must choose an access code for all faxes they send. If you select this option and the users do not select an access code, the fax will fail.

Merge list with default

This option is no longer supported.

 

You can modify the default billing code options by using the Server Profile Properties page. The default billing code is used to send a one-off fax message.

To modify the Billing codes

  1. Open the Server Profile Properties page.

  2. Click Billing Codes.

  3. Modify the following optiions as needed.

Option

Description

Override server's profile settings

Select this option if you want the cover pages you add to this Profile to override the cover pages in the Server Profile.

Note: If you are modifying the Server GeniProfile, you do not see this option.

Add

To add a new billing code:  

  1. Click Add. The New Billing Code page opens.

  2. In the Billing Code text box, enter the billing code name.

  3. Click OK.

Delete

To delete a Billing code:

  1. Select the billing code.

  2. Click Delete.

Select the check box beside this option if you require that all users of this server profile must choose a billing code for all faxes they send. If you select this option and the users do not select a billing code, the message will fail.
