Setting up Server Cluster

Automatic failover, a native Upland AccuRoute capability, ensures seamless and immediate recovery from a localized system failure on the server.

The following server configuration is required.

  • Two redundant servers joined to form a server cluster identified as Active (Primary) and Passive (Secondary).

  • A database server that will host the server databases.

Note: The Message Server uses Microsoft SQL database to function. Microsoft SQL Server 2019 or 2022 can be installed as part of the configuration. Alternatively, an Administrator can choose to install the Message Server databases to a host Microsoft SQL Server during the installation process.

  • A shared file storage server that will host the Telco share which is an intermediary repository for inbound and outbound faxes, Messages folder and other shared resources.

Note: The Administrator must change the Primary server registry references to the shared location or validate they are properly set before running the Secondary server installation.

  • A remote IIS can be added to host the Intelligent Device client and specific device client installs in some environments where multifunction devices are used.

Note: This is not a requirement. There are other possible configurations, for example, hosting IIS on the Primary/Secondary servers where load balancing occurs between the two servers. Contact Technical Support for assistance.
