Managing Connectors
You may need to modify, rename, enable, disable, or remove connectors that are part of your company's configuration. See how below.
To modify a connector with no profile
- Start the Server Administrator, if necessary.
- Select Connectors on the Server Administrator tree. The Connector details pane appears.
- Right-click to choose a connector. The Connector shortcut menu appears.
- Select Properties. The Properties dialog box appears.
- Select and modify the appropriate properties as needed.
- Click OK.
To rename a connector

Start the Server Administrator.

Expand the Server Administrator tree.

Select Connectors. The details pane lists the connectors that are licensed with your server.

Double-click the connector whose name you want to modify. The Properties dialog box opens.

In the Name box, type the new name for the connector.

Click OK. The connector name in the details pane shows the new name for the connector.
You can enable or disable connectors in your server environment.
- When you enable (open) a connector, it allows messages to enter and exit the server messaging environment.
- When you disable (close) a connector, it does not allow messages to enter and exit the server messaging environment.
To enable a connector

Start the Server Administrator.

Expand the Server Administrator tree.

Select Connectors. The details pane lists the connectors that are licensed with your server.

Right-click the appropriate connector with a Disabled status. The Properties shortcut menu appears.

Select Enable.
To disable a connector

Start the Server Administrator.

Expand the Server Administrator tree.

Select Connectors. The details pane lists the connectors that are licensed with your server.

Right-click the appropriate connector with an Enabled status. The Properties shortcut menu appears.

Select Disable.
You can delete a connector from your server environment. Before doing so, make a note of the license key associated with the connector. You will need this license key to reinstall the connector.
Note: You cannot delete some connectors.
To delete a connector

Start the Server Administrator.

Expand the Server Administrator tree.

Select Connectors. The details pane lists the connectors that are licensed with your server.

Right-click the connector you want to delete. The Properties shortcut menu appears.

Select Delete. A Confirmation message appears.
- Confirm that you want to delete the connector and click Yes.
The connector is removed from the details pane. Messages will no longer be able to use the connector to enter and exit the server messaging system.
Note: If you get an error when removing a connector, remove any routing rule associated with the connector. Then, repeat the procedure above.
