Not Element

Use the NOT element to select contacts that are not captured by your input node.

Example: you want to send a campaign to all tiers of paid users. Each membership level is identified by a label on the contact data.

You could:

  • Add all the tiers as label nodes and combine them using an OR node, or

  • Add a label element with the label for 'Free_User' and connect it to a NOT node.

Tip: label nodes have the option to count 'not in this set' in the properties pane, combining the functionality of a label node plus a NOT node into a single element.

Adding a NOT element

On the designer tab:

  1. Drag the NOT icon onto your canvas to create a NOT node.

  2. Connect the input node you want to exclude from your audience to the left-hand side of the NOT node.

Editing NOT element properties

The properties pane to the right of the canvas changes based on the selected element.

  1. Select the NOT node to view the node's properties.

  2. Overwrite the pre-assigned name for the NOT node with a name of your choice.

  3. The table is automatically calculated when you refresh your audience count based on the table used for your input node.
