Bandings
Data bandings allow you to create your own custom results groups in Audiences.
-
Date bandings allow you to group your data based on date values, e.g. group transaction history by month or year.
-
Numeric bandings allow you to manipulate and segment numeric fields, e.g. grouping customers into age brackets.
-
Parametric bandings allow you to define the criteria for each potential returned value, e.g. band 1 equals all gold rewards customers in the database, band 2 equals all males in the database, etc.
Note: parametric bands are mutually exclusive and calculated in the order they are declared.
Example: you create a parametric banding with four bands.
-
All gold members in band 1.
-
All silver members in band 2.
-
All males in band 3.
-
All females in band 4.
Audiences will:
-
Place all gold members, regardless of any other conditions, in band 1. All other customers will then be assessed for band 2.
-
Place all silver members in band 2, since a member cannot be both a gold and a silver member.
-
Include only the males that are not gold or silver members in the band when assessing band 3.
-
If all customers identified as female are also silver or gold members, there will be nobody to place in band 4.
-
Any customers who do not have a gold or silver membership status or a male or female gender assigned will not appear in any band.
