Accessing the Source Editor

You can access the Source Editor when working with a campaign's HTML content. Whether a campaign has an empty message or already contains some HTML content, you can select the 'HTML' tab in the page tab bar, or the 'Manage HTML' button in the campaign overview.

This will direct you to the Edit HTML Content page, from which you can select the 'Source Editor' button.

Uses for Source Editor

Using the Source Editor can be useful if you want to make changes to the HTML structure or for example if you have raw HTML that you wish to insert into the template.

Note: When you make any changes, remember to click the 'Save' button in the top-left corner. You can also use the Ctrl+S keyboard shortcut.

FAQ

Can I copy and paste HTML from my computer into the source editor?

This method usually works, but if your HTML contains international characters then this may or may not work correctly depending on what software you're using on your computer and its configuration. If the software you're using to open the HTML source doesn't properly understand the international characters in it, Adestra will receive broken data, potentially rendering your email unreadable.

Tip: If you're working with HTML containing international characters we recommend either using the "Load File" option to upload the file, or carefully checking any HTML you've pasted into the source editor prior to launch.
