Create a Form
To create a new form:
-
In the Workspace menu, select Forms.
-
On the form builder page, press the + Create Form button.
-
Enter your form settings, content settings, and thank you page settings.
-
Press the Save button.
-
Add elements to your form, e.g. radio buttons, checkboxes, etc.
-
Add validation to your form, e.g. force check for terms and conditions.
-
Add actions to your form, e.g. send campaign upon submission.
-
Host your form.
Tip: if you copy a form (from the form overview), you can change the permissions of the duplicated form and select a different workspace, without changing the original.
Form settings
-
On the form settings page, enter a name for the form.
The name of the form:
-
Will be visible in the static URL for the form.
-
Will not be displayed in the form itself (the form will typically display the Title entered in the content settings).
-
-
Add a description to help identify additional details when viewing the table on the form builder page.
-
Select a core table to associate with your form, i.e. where the data is stored when the form is submitted.
Tip: if the core table has public access across more than one workspace, it is possible to use the form in a different workspace than the one it was created in.
Once the form has been saved, the core table cannot be changed.
-
Select a template to use for the form. Templates control how your form appears.
-
Select the domain used in your form URLs and when generating form links.
-
If your domain is configured to use SSL and HTTPS, check the SSL box.
Tip: make sure you test this is working correctly, as SSL checked forms will depend on domain configuration.
Note: the msgfocus.com domain is configured for SSL/HTTPS forms.
-
Add tags to aid in searching for specific forms.
Content settings
-
Enter a title. This will typically be displayed at the top of your form (depending on template settings).
-
(Optional) Select Include a logo to open your logo options.
Ensure the logo you are uploading is the correct size.
Placement will depend on the selected template.
Tip: include alt text as the alt text will be displayed if images do not show.
-
If you want to customise your form, insert raw CSS or Javascript styling.
Note: when using CSS or Javascript, anything referring to IDs in Adestra will cause exceptions if the form is copied.
-
Enter additional HTML to include within the <head> tags on your page. This can include scripts, links to external style sheets, meta information and more.
Thank you page settings
As part of the form creation, you can define what you would like to display to the user after the form has been submitted.
The options include redirecting the user to a URL containing your thank you page or to display thank you text once the form is submitted.
Some thank you text is provided by default but you can change this by clicking in the text box and editing the text.
