Notification Email

It is possible to set up an automatic notification email to be sent when a contact submits a form. An example of how this can be useful could be to notify your sales team of a new lead.

This is done by adding an action at either form or element level. At form level, the notification will be sent with every form submit. At element level, the notification will only be sent depending on the data submitted.

Form Level

To add the action to the form, click the 'Actions' tab which you can access from the form overview page, then select the 'Send Notification' link in the Add Actions list.

Each email is required to have a subject line, this can be anything you would like but should be relevant to help identify that email.

A notification email can be to single or multiple addresses, to another Adestra user, or a user group, which you can select using the 'Send to' drop-down menu.

Now that the action has been set up, once the contact submits the form, the selected recipient(s) will be sent a notification email.

Element Level

When adding an action to an element, the notification will only be sent depending on the data submitted, and the conditions for the action will vary depending on the element. Choosing the recipient(s) follows the same process as above, however the set up will differ depending on which element is used.

This example will show how to add the action to a radio element, so that when a contact checks a particular option and submits the form, a notification email will be sent to a specified email address.

The first step is to create the element.

  1. Select a table field.

  2. Enter a label for the element. This is the description the recipient will see.

  3. Enter a label and value for each button.

  4. If you want one of your options selected by default, select the radio button next to that option.

  5. Use the add button to add more radio buttons to your element.

  6. If the recipient has to select a value to continue, check the force value checkbox.

Once saved, you will be returned to the form overview. Click on the element label in the element list, and you will be able to select the 'Actions' tab. Select the 'Send Notification' link in the Add Actions list.

In this example using a radio element, the condition value that must be met for the notification to send is chosen by selecting a radio button value from a drop-down menu.

Click 'Save' and the action will be added to the element.

Now the element and action have been set up, once the campaign has launched and the form is submitted by a contact, a notification email will be sent to the selected user.
