Domain Group Reporting
Domain group reporting provides a visual tool for the marketer to analyse email delivery metrics on a domain group basis, which enables them to identify deliverability challenges with specific mail providers.

About domain groups
Domain groups are calculated by using the MX (mail exchange) record of the individual email address, which identifies the mailbox provider of the address.
Predefined domain groups have been set by analysing and identifying individual MX records to which Adestra sends outgoing mail. The data is rolled up to give a top-level view of the mailbox provider for the record.
By using this method to group data, Adestra gives the user a more meaningful way to analyse deliverability at the mailbox-provider level.
Note: The MX record only identifies the first step of the email journey. For example, if an email is sent to an an Office 365 address and then is forwarded to a third-party scanner, only Office 365 will be identified.
Currently, records and domain groups are only scanned monthly, so there is potential for discrepancies should a domain change mailbox providers.
Summary report
The Summary report provides an overview and delivery performance metrics of the top mailbox providers for the most frequently used domain groups.
Note: The report does not include historical data and will only report on launch data from the date when the feature was enabled.
-
The chart at the top of the report represents up to 10 most sent-to domain groups. Additional groups are listed as 'Other'.
Tip: You can also remove domains from the chart by clicking the legend.
-
The table at the bottom of the report displays delivery metrics for domain groups that are set to an account. By default, the table displays the top 20 domain groups by attempted delivery. If the account has more than 20 domain groups, use the navigation options below the table to view the next/previous pages.
Invalid domains
Invalid domains may appear in the report due to invalid records (for example, using hotmal.con instead of hotmail.com).
Unclassified domains
We have identified the top 50 mailbox providers by volume, but there is potential for new providers to appear: for example, new providers that are specific to a particular business.
As we refine our domain group setting process, we will endeavour to identify these unclassified domains, but if you need assistance with an unclassified domain, contact Support and we will review it with our deliverability team.
Drilldown report
The Drilldown report graphs a timeline of events where you can identify trends when deliverability issues may have started on a particular domain group.
Note: If you delete a domain group, the drilldown report for the deleted group will no longer be unavailable.
Each data point is the aggregated total of launches to a particular domain group during that day, with an independent line displayed for each metric.
By default, each metric is displayed, but if you wish to view them independently or to compare against each other, click the respective legend label to select and deselect.
