Exporting to Powerpoint

You can export the contents of an relationship map to a Powerpoint (.pptx) file. This provides you with the basic materials to prepare a presentation showing what the map contains.

Note: This topic is a guide for users with an Altify Relationship Map license. Users with a license for the wider Account Manager or Opportunity Manager products should go to Generating Outputs (for AM) or Generating Outputs (OM).

To generate the Powerpoint file:

  1. Open the relationship map.

  2. Click the Exports button the in top right of the page and select PPT Export.

  3. If you are exporting the relationship map for an opportunity, the Export to Powerpoint dialog is displayed (as shown below). Make sure that the Relationships option is checked and click Export.

  4. When the Powerpoint export file is ready, click the link Click to save.

  5. In the PowerPoint file itself, a small bit of editing is required to get the best view of exported relationships .

    1. Ensure that Enable Editing is activated for the PPT file (this step should not be necessary on a Mac).

    2. Scroll down to the Relationships slide.

    3. Right-click on the list of contacts and select Convert to SmartArt (as shown in the example below).

      On a Mac, click into the bulleted list and in the PowerPoint Elements Gallery, select the SmartArt Graphics tab/button.

    4. Select the Organization Chart or the Hierarchy List diagram.

      On a Mac, click the Hierarchy section and select either the Organization Chart or Hierarchy diagram.

The software names Powerpoint export files of relationship maps as follows:

  • For exports of opportunity maps, the format of the Powerpoint file name is 'OM_[Opportunity Name].pptx'

  • For exports of account maps, the format of the Powerpoint file name is 'AccountMap_[Account Name].pptx'

An administrator can configure which options are available for selection in a Powerpoint export. This involves enabling and disabling settings as appropriate in Altify Powerpoint custom settings.

The options available for Powerpoint export also depend on which features of the software have been enabled for users.
