Surfacing Alternative Account Names

You can create a custom field that is used by Altify to populate the Account Name field in Account Manager.

If your org often has duplicate account names, you may choose to surface an alternative account field in Account Manager to better discern one account from another as you choose accounts to build your account plans.

You may already have such a field in place, or you may wish to create a new custom field which creates this unambiguous alternative account name.

For example, if you determined that while account names are not unique in your Org, they are unique per city so you could create a custom field concatenating the account name and the billing city.

When you have decided up on the unique alternative account name you wish to surface in Account Manager in place of the standard account name, go to Altify Account Manager Settings in Custom Settings and enter the API name of the formula field that you created in the following field: AM Account Custom Naming.

The custom Account field that is used should be added to the Account CRUD Search View and the Opportunity CRUD Search View.

Note: Where a user has specified an account group name while using the Group Accounts function in Account Manager plan settings, that name gets surfaced rather than the alternative account name configured here.
