Create a database connection

The Database Connection page displays information for the database(s) that you are connect to.

Caution: Analytics allows for great flexibility in managing database connections but it is only recommended for users with knowledge and understanding of the configuration and its administration.

To create a database connection:

  1. Click Analytics Settings on the Analytics Menu and then click Database Connections. The Database Connections page displays a list of all available database connections.

  2. Click New Connection. The New Connection form displays.

  3. In the Name field, type the database name.

  4. In the Database Engine section, click SQL Server or PostgreSQL.

  5. In the Server Name field, type the name of the server.

  6. In the Database Name field, type the name of the database.

  7. In the Database User field, type the database username.

  8. In the Database Password field, type the password for the database.

  9. Optional: Click Test Connection. The color on the button changes to indicate the status of the connection as follows:

    • Green: The database is connected.

    • Red: The database is not connected.

    • Yellow: The database is being created.

  10. Click Save.
