How to Generate Document Previews

 

Smart Previews

Smart Previews enables users to preview documents returned from search results in SharePoint.

For this reason, this component is required to generate crawl-time document previews.

Note: You must have Smart Previews installed and configured (for your content source) before you can add and configure this Component.

  1. Add the Component.
  2. Existing Components: Click the named link for this component to see the Configuration section:

    See the Configuration section.

  3. Service Url: Specify the URL of the Smart Previews web service.

    For example, enter: http://localhost:1237/ContentProcessingService/v2 

    Important!

    The characters "/v2" at the end of the URL shown above are required!
