How to Clone a Connection

About

Connectivity Hub v3.0 enables users to clone existing connections. You can use this feature when you need to create multiple connections. You can find the option to clone a connection under the Actions column on the Connections page. For more information, see Clone a connection below.

You can clone a connection for the following use cases:

  • Performance: For environments with large amounts of content that require multiple connections (and possibly multiple content sources), multiple connections are recommended for performance and organizational purposes. Cloning your connection can accelerate this process.

  • Staging/Testing: For instances where a connection is to be tested (recommended) before being implemented, you can clone a connection to test in a development environment before promoting it to a production environment.

Clone a Connection

The following steps explain how you can clone a connection:

  1. Open your instance of Connectivity Hub if it is not already open.

  2. Navigate to the Connections page.

  3. On the connection that you want to clone, in the Actions column, click the sprocket icon > Clone....

  4. In the Connection Info tab, in the Title field, enter a name for the cloned connection.

  5. Complete the other settings in the other tabs as needed for your connection. For more information, see How to Connect to Source System.

  6. Click Save. The new connection is listed on the Connections page.

  7. You can repeat this process as many time as necessary. For certain environments, it may be necessary to clone a single connection multiple times for performance reasons.
