Backup and restore your Connectivity Hub configuration
The Backup & Restore tab allows you to backup all configuration settings, targets, connections, content sources, datasets, and dataset connections in a Connectivity Hub environment to a .json file. After your configuration specifications have been backed up, you can restore them to a new configuration database.
To backup your environment configuration and restore it to a new database, do the following:
-
Navigate to the Connectivity Hub administration portal
-
In the left panel, click Tools > Configuration and select the Backup & Restore tab.
-
Click Create Backup. A backup.json file is downloaded to the downloads folder of your browser.
-
Click the Configuration Database tab and change the database name to the database that you want to import your configuration specifications to, then click Connect or Create depending on the status of the database.
-
Click Select Backup, select the backup.json file that you downloaded in step 3, then click Open.
-
After clicking Open, the UI will display information regarding the backup file. For example, you can see the number of new targets and existing targets when compared to the database.
Note the following:- All the settings and configurations shown in the list will be rewritten when restored.
- Upland BA Insight recommends that you stop all running tasks and scheduler services when restoring.
-
Click Restore. Your Connectivity Hub environment will be populated with the configuration information from the file
Limitations
-
Passwords and cache databases are not stored in the backup file. After restoring your configuration, you will need to manually enter any passwords for your connections, targets, dataset connections, target directory, and email notifications.
