About the Backstage connector
Overview
The Upland BA Insight Backstage connector allows you to index and crawl instances of TechDocs from a Backstage developer portal by extracting relevant metadata Provides context with details such as the source, type, owner, and relationships to other data sets. Metadata provides details around the item being crawled by Connectivity Hub. from Backstage components and return the full content of the TechDocs documents.

Note the following features with the Backstage connector:

Ability to index content included in TechDocs instances.

Every TechDocs page is indexed as a separate item, along with metadata that is inherited from the parent component.

The expected metadata returned by the connector includes Document_Title, Description, Lifecycle, Name, Owner, System, Tags, Type.

The connector maintains authentication and security specifications of the source system Your Source System is the repository where your data is stored (data to be indexed). This repository is managed by applications such as: - SharePoint O365 - SharePoint 2013/16/19 - Documentum - File Share - OpenText - Lotus Notes - etc. Your Source System repository can also be a database such as SQL or Oracle..

All Backstage items are marked as public.

The Backstage connector only supports full crawls. This is because the Backstage items offer no information on the last modified date and the API does not allow filtering by last modified. Thus, Connectivity Hub is unable to retrieve items that were modified since the last crawl.
