About the IBM Connections Connector

The IBM Connections Connector supports the following features and functions:

  • Choose the data repository for indexing.
  • Filter content types inside your selected repositories.
  • Filter by document ID (custom filter).
  • Provides two methods to get the file, or the attachment, content: 
    • Receive content using the web-service-based IBM Connections Connector
    • Retrieve content using the shared network folder. This folder can be set up to handle each specific data type.
  • Ability to retrieve the content of files, blogs, wikis, and forums directly from the IBM Connections' file shares. This feature specifically improves performance and minimizes impact.

Security

The IBM Connections Connector honors the security of the source system Your Source System is the repository where your data is stored (data to be indexed). This repository is managed by applications such as: - SharePoint O365 - SharePoint 2013/16/19 - Documentum - File Share - OpenText - Lotus Notes - etc. Your Source System repository can also be a database such as SQL or Oracle..

IBM Connections Connector 2.0 supports the following basic document types and applications for IBM Connections versions 4.5:

Limitations

The IBM Connections connector version 2.0 does not support these additional document types and applications for the IBM Connections data types version 4.5:

  • Activity templates
  • SubCommunity events
  • Community events
  • Community related communities
  • SubCommunity related communities
