For more about how security is handled in the connector, see Security Requirements.
Limitations
The following are known limitations for the Microsoft Exchange connector:
-
Archive security permissions changes are not applied during incremental crawls Scanning and capturing only new data from all of your content sources. This data did not exist when the last crawl was run.. If permissions are changed on an archive mailbox or archive mailbox folder, a full recrawl is required.
-
The Application Impersonation role is deprecated by Microsoft and can not be used by the Connectivity Hub crawl mechanism. For more information about this deprecation, see Critical Update: ApplicationImpersonation RBAC Role Deprecation in Exchange Online in the Microsoft community.
-
Microsoft has introduced Export-Import APIs in beta. These Microsoft Graph APIs will permit the Exchange connector to read, export, and import Exchange mailbox data. For more information, see Use the mailbox import and export APIs in Microsoft Graph (preview) in the Microsoft documentation.
