About the SharePoint 2013/16/19 Connector

Features

BA Insight’s SharePoint 2013/16/19 Connector enables you to perform the following:

For more information about the SharePoint connector's features and abilities, see https://www.bainsight.com/connectors/sharepoint-2016-connector/.

Limitations

  • The default behavior of the SharePoint Connector  is to not include 'hidden' properties in the metadata returned for the items. However, this can be customized by specifying a list of 'hidden' properties in web.config which should be returned.
  • When versioning is enabled for files, the latest version of the file (be it published or unpublished) will be crawled, unless all versions are minor versions, in which case the entire file will not be crawled.
    • File A (version 0.1) will not be crawled.
    • File B (version 0.2) will not be crawled.
    • File C (version 1.0) will be crawled.
    • File D (version 1.1) will be crawled.
    • File E (version 2.0) will be crawled.
  • When a file has the "rejected" or "pending" status, it will not be crawled unless a previous version of the file already exists. If however a previous version exists (no matter its status), the file will be crawled.
    • File A (version 1.0) with the status pending or rejected will not be crawled.
    • File B (version 1.0) with the status approved will be crawled.
    • File C (version 2.0) with the status pending or rejected will be crawled.
    • File D (version 2.0) with the status approved will be crawled.

Security

The SharePoint 2013/16/19 connector honors the security found in SharePoint and provides both full and incremental crawls Scanning and capturing only new data from all of your content sources. This data did not exist when the last crawl was run..
