About the eDocs Connector

Overview

Users of the OpenText eDOCS DM connector are able to search for content housed in eDOCS repositories directly from within SharePoint, or any other portal, eliminating the need to perform multiple searches to locate needed content. 

• With eDOCS DM, all of your work products, such as documents, e-mail, graphics, PDFs, engineering drawings, scanned paper, and electronic-based records are consolidated into a unified enterprise knowledge base for easy retrieval and collaboration.

• Users of the OpenText eDOCS DM Connector are able to search for content housed in eDOCS repositories directly from within SharePoint, or any other portal, eliminating the need to perform multiple searches to locate needed content. 

Features

The BA Insight OpenText eDocs connector:

• Supports crawling of all types of content stored in eDOCS such as documents, emails, PDFs, etc.
• Maintains security established in eDOCS, including the complex security models frequently used in organizations.
• Master copies of content and security attributes remain in eDOCS. 
• References to content are stored in the search index Contains data from your source system. Your search application instance (Elasticsearch, SharePoint Online, etc.) contains the search indexes. One search index per content source., so users who click on search results are taken directly to the content in eDOCS.

Security

Security established within eDOCS is maintained by the connector to make certain that content is only seen by those who have been granted access.
