Veeva Vault Connector Prerequisites

The Veeva Vault connector enables you to crawl both the full text and metadata Provides context with details such as the source, type, owner, and relationships to other data sets. Metadata provides details around the item being crawled by Connectivity Hub. of Veeva Vault objects, by querying via the API.

User Accounts and Application Permissions

Required Permission Description
Veeva Vault account

The account used to crawl your data must have full READ permissions to the following content:

    • Documents
    • Users
    • Groups
    • Relationships
    • Objects/deletions/documents
    • Metadata/objects/document/properties
    • Metadata/objects/document/types
    • Document attachments

The account used to crawl your data must have DOWNLOAD permissions for either or both of the following (depending on business requirements):

    • Document viewable renditions (for both written and video documents)
    • Document Source

The crawl account must have access to a document's full lifecycle to detect all changes to the document.

  • Ensure you give permission only to the vaults you intend to crawl.
  • Vaults outside of the configured Veeva Vault domain are skipped. 
Note: The API respects user permissions. If a user does not have permission(s) to a document (VIEW, READ, etc.), then the API does not perform the action requested by the user.
