eVault Connector Prerequisites

Knowledge Requirements

To install the eVault connector you must have knowledge of how to configure and administrate the following applications:

SharePoint or MS Search server
Symantec Enterprise Vault

DCOM Verification

Verify DCOM is enabled on your eVault Server: Follow these steps to check the DCOM status and to enable DCOM if it is disabled.

Click Start > Run, type Dcomcnfg, and click OK.
Go to Component Service > Computers > My Computer.
Right-click on My Computer and select "Properties."
Select the Default Properties tab.
To enable DCOM, select "Enable Distributed COM on this computer."
Restart the operating system for the change to take effect.

This repository is managed by applications such as: - SharePoint O365 - SharePoint 2013/16/19 - Documentum - File Share - OpenText - Lotus Notes - etc. Your Source System repository can also be a database such as SQL or Oracle.. To make items *public* or *restricted* to a single user/set of users, you can do so within the Connector Framework.
Required Software	.NET Framework v4.7.2 Enterprise search connectors DCOM	You must install the Enterprise search connectors on your SharePoint or MS Search server before you use the Enterprise Vault Connector with SharePoint. This installation step is not required before you install the Enterprise Vault connector on your Vault server (or other API server). Verify DCOM is enabled on your Vault Server.
