Adding your SmartHub license
How to add your SmartHub License
In SmartHub 7.0 and later, a new licensing system was introduced. If you are upgrading to or installing SmartHub 7.0 or later, you must add a valid license to your environment. Depending on the status of your license, a message banner in the SmartHub Administration Portal will display text that states one of the following:
-
Error: Your SmartHub license expired or is invalid.
-
Warning: Your SmartHub license has expired and your software license is currently in a grace period ending on <date>.
-
Warning: Your SmartHub license expires on <date>.
Additionally, if you do not have a license configured, admins will be able to use the SmartHub administration portal to configure SmartHub, but no search results will be returned.
To add a license to your SmartHub environment, do the following:
-
If you do not already have a license file, contact Upland Support.
-
Save the license file onto the same server as your SmartHub Administration Portal.
-
Copy the license file and paste it to the License folder in the SmartHub installation folder. The default path is "<Smarthub installation folder>\License\".
-
The web.config file contains a LicenseFolderPath setting. If you change the default location of the license file, you must update the setting with the new location or name.
-
After copying the license file, activate the license using the LicenseActivation.exe that is found in the same installation folder. In order to activate the license, you must run the activation .exe, select the copied license, select the product you are activating, and click Submit. After successful activation, you will be able to use SmartHub functionality.
Internet access is required to activate the license file. If your environment does not have internet access, see -
After you have added your license, do the following to confirm that your license is valid:
-
Navigate to the SmartHub administration portal and confirm that a banner message is not visible.
-
On the left panel, click General Settings. In the License State field, verify that the correct license is displayed.
-
