Configure the Previews Web Resources Site

Note: SmartHub with Smart Previews may be on a different IIS site than your existing Smart Previews IIS site.

  • The certificates used must be the same for SmartHub and Smart Previews Web Resources.

Procedure:

To configure the Previews Web Resources site:

  1. Navigate to the Configure page of Smart Previews Web Resources site:
       https://<SmartPreviewsWebResourcesAddress>/Pages/Configure.aspx
  2. Enter the information, below, that is required to establish the connection with BA Insight SmartHub.

  3. Click Save when finished. 

    Note: You must use the Smart Previews Hybrid service address.

Failed to process your configuration. Please check the log for details.

Completing the required information on the Front End Configuration page can throw an error back to the user.

  • This error is caused by a faulty .xml configuration file (CloudConfig.xml)

  • Fix the error by deleting the .xml file found in the following path: “SmartPreviewsFrontEnd\App_Data”

  • Also, security on the directory App_data must be set to FULL CONTROL of the local machine/user

On-premise Preview Service Address

  1. Enter the Smart Previews Hybrid site address followed by the port where the Smart Previews Hybrid site is running.
  2. This address must match the address specified in the certificate which is used by Smart Previews Hybrid web site for SSL:
    1. For instance, if the certificate is issued for servername.domain.com, you cannot use only servername or localhost in this configuration setting):
    2. When navigating to the address https://<servername>.domain.com:5026/pages/configure.aspx, the browser should not block the connection due to invalid or missing SSL certificate.


Result Source Name

  • The result source name is required to execute valid queries in order to confirm the rights of the current user who is requesting the Preview.
  • Specify the default value: "Local SharePoint Results" (without quotes).

Result Source Level

  • Leave the default value "Tenant".

Certificate

Use one of the following methods:

  • Export (as .cer file) the certificate from the Certificate Store whose name was used to configure authentication on the Smart Previews Hybrid Component configuration page, then select the exported .cer file here.
  • First, download the certificate from the Smart Previews Hybrid page, and then select the file for upload here.
