About the SQL Connector

The BA Insight SQL Connector enables organizations to tap into the wealth of data stored within SQL databases, making that data instantly actionable to users through search.

Connector Framework/Connectivity Hub Integration

This Connector is integrated with your Connector Framework program.
For this reason, when you install the Connector Framework or Connectivity Hub, you install the SQL Connector.

Database Support

The SQL Connector is built upon industry standard database access methods, so it can equally support databases from other systems such as Oracle, MySQL, and IBM Db2.

Database Example

Use the SQL Connector to access your third-party SQL databases.

Azure SQL

For example, use the SQL connector to crawl a Azure SQL database into Office 365 Cloud Hybrid Search.

The application could be hosted in Azure WebApps, using an Azure SQL database.

Security

The connector honors the security of the source database and provides both full and incremental crawls so the users have the latest information available to them all the time.

Limitations

Azure Active Directory Authentication

BA Insight does NOT support Azure AD authentication with Azure SQL.
The user account used to connect to Azure SQL must be a SQL account.
