How to add your Connectivity Hub License
You must add a license before you can use Connectivity Hub functionality. After you install Connectivity Hub, you will see a banner in the Connectivity Hub administration portal specifying the current state of your license. Depending on the status of your license, this banner will display text that states one of the following:

Error: Your Connectivity Hub license expired or is invalid.

Warning: Your Connectivity Hub license has expired and your software license is currently in a grace period ending on <date>.

Warning: Your Connectivity Hub license expires on <date>.
Connectivity Hub will prompt you with this message when there is less than 30 days left on your current license. -
If your license is valid, no banner message will be displayed.
Additionally, if you do not have a license configured, users will be able to access the Connectivity Hub administration portal, but you will not be able to run full or incremental crawls, use the doc-loader, or use the advanced security module.
To add a license to your Connectivity Hub environment, do the following:

If you do not already have a license file, obtain one by contacting Upland Support.

Copy the license file to the folder that is provided at the time of installation. The default path is <Installation directory>\Upland BA Insight \Upland BA Insight Connectivity Hub\License.
After copying the license file, activate the license using the LicenseActivation.exe that is found in the same installation folder. In order to activate the license, you must run the activation .exe, select the copied license, select the product you are activating, and click submit. After successful activation, you will be able to use Connectivity Hub functionality.
Note: Internet access is required to activate the license file. If your environment does not have internet access, see activating your Connectivity Hub license offline.
Activating your Connectivity Hub license offline
When activating your Connectivity Hub license, an API request is made to https://license.bainsight.com/. To activate the Connectivity Hub license this way, internet access is required. If your network does not allow for internet access, you can use the following steps to activate your license:

On a computer that has internet access, open a browser and navigate to the Upland BA Insight License Management portal.

In the license management portal, click Choose File and select your Connectivity Hub license.
Note: If you do not already have a license file, you can obtain one by contacting Upland Support.

Click Activate and Download.

Save the activated license file and transfer it to the Connectivity Hub server.

Copy the activated license file to the Connectivity Hub license folder. The default path to this folder is <Installation directory>\Upland BA Insight \Upland BA Insight Connectivity Hub\License.
Adding your SmartHub license
How to add your SmartHub License
In SmartHub 7.0 and later, a new licensing system was introduced. If you are upgrading to or installing SmartHub 7.0 or later, you must add a valid license to your environment. Depending on the status of your license, a message banner in the SmartHub Administration Portal will display text that states one of the following:

Error: Your SmartHub license expired or is invalid.

Warning: Your SmartHub license has expired and your software license is currently in a grace period ending on <date>.

Warning: Your SmartHub license expires on <date>.
Additionally, if you do not have a license configured, admins will be able to use the SmartHub administration portal to configure SmartHub, but no search results will be returned.
To add a license to your SmartHub environment, do the following:

If you do not already have a license file, contact Upland Support.

Save the license file onto the same server as your SmartHub Administration Portal.

Copy the license file and paste it to the License folder in the SmartHub installation folder. The default path is "<Smarthub installation folder>\License\".

The web.config file contains a LicenseFolderPath setting. If you change the default location of the license file, you must update the setting with the new location or name.

After copying the license file, activate the license using the LicenseActivation.exe that is found in the same installation folder. In order to activate the license, you must run the activation .exe, select the copied license, select the product you are activating, and click Submit. After successful activation, you will be able to use SmartHub functionality.

After you have added your license, do the following to confirm that your license is valid:

Navigate to the SmartHub administration portal and confirm that a banner message is not visible.

On the left panel, click General Settings. In the License State field, verify that the correct license is displayed.

Activating your SmartHub license offline

Adding your AutoClassifier license
How to add your AutoClassifier License
You must add a license before you can use AutoClassifier functionality. After you install AutoClassifier, you will see a banner in the AutoClassifier administration portal specifying the current state of your license. Depending on the status of your license, this banner will display text that states one of the following:

The license is not valid.
-
The license has expired.
-
The license is about to expire.
To add a license to your AutoClassifier environment, do the following:

If you do not already have a license file, obtain one by contacting Upland Support.

Copy the license file to the folder that is provided at the time of installation (this is also available in web.config file with the "licensefolderpath" key). The default path is <Installation directory>\Upland BA Insight \Upland BA Insight AutoClassifier\License.
After copying the license file, activate the license using the License Activation .exe that is found in the same installation folder. In order to activate the license, you must run the activation .exe, select the copied license, select the product you are activating, and click submit. After successful activation, you will be able to use AutoClassifier functionality.
Activating your AutoClassifier license offline
When activating your AutoClassifier license, an API request is made to https://licence.bainsight.com/. To activate the AutoClassifier license this way, internet access is required. If your network does not allow for internet access, you can use the following steps to activate your license:

Adding your Smart Previews license
You must add an activated license before you can use SmartPreviews functionality. After you first install SmartPreviews, you will see a banner in the SmartPreviews administration portal that states License is empty.
After adding a license to your SmartPreviews environment, depending on the status of your license, the banner message will display one of the following descriptions:

Your <license type> license is valid.
-
Your <license type> Smart Previews license is not valid. It may be corrupted or missing. Please refer to Smart Previews Licensing documentation for more information.

Your <license type> Smart Previews license has expired. Please contact the Upland BA Insight Support team to renew license.
-
Your <license type> Smart Previews license will expire in {X} days.

Your <license type> Smart Previews license has expired and the product is running on grace period. Please contact the Upland BA Insight Support team to renew license.
Additionally, if you do not have a license configured, users will be able to successfully generate a preview, but will not be able to see the preview content. If a user attempts to view preview content without a license, they will see a message stating "Smart Previews has detected that your product license subscription is invalid. It may be expired, corrupted, or missing. Access to the Smart Previews application has been disabled. Please contact Upland Support to renew your license.".
To add a license to your SmartPreviews environment, do the following:

If you do not already have a license file, obtain one by contacting Upland Support.

Save the license file onto the same server as your Smart Previews administration portal.

If your license is not activated, navigate to the \Upland BA Insight\Smart Previews Import Server\Bin\ folder and open BAInsight.Licensing.Activator.exe. In the license activation window, click Browse and select your Smart Previews license, then select Smart Previews from the drop-down list.

In the administration portal, click License from the left panel.

Click Choose Files, then select your license file.

Click Update License.
-
If you license was successfully added, you will see a banner message stating "Your <license type> license is valid".

To remove your license, click Remove License.
