BANDINDEX returns a number indicating the band into which each record falls in a given Banding. In the case of overlapped bands the number will be the first element into which the record falls. For records that do not fall into a band BANDINDEX will return zero.
BANDINDEX ( <banding_name>)

banding name: The name of the banding
Example: Create a field on the Individual table using the Total Spend Deciles Banding that, for each Individual, returns the Index of the band into which they fall
BANDINDEX ( [Individual.Total Spend Deciles] )
Results:
- Returns 0 for an input of No Match
- Returns 1 for an input of Low
- Returns 2 for an input of Medium
- Returns 3 for an input of High
