Modify instructions for Self-Service actions

The instructions page appears when a user selects an Action in Self-Service. You can edit this action page to fit the needs of your organization. The instructions editor supports HTML formatting and hyperlinks.

Edit Self-Service instructions:

  1. Go to Configuration > System Preferences > Request Configuration.
  2. Select a Request Action. The Request Action details open in the right pane.
  3. Select the Instructions tab.
  4. To show the instructions page, switch on Show the instruction page when starting the request. The instructions editor opens.

  5. Modify the instructions.

    Note: A text editor toolbar is available for you to add headings, lists and other formatting.

  6. To add a French translation, select the French tab and repeat steps 4 & 5.

  7. When you're finished, click Apply. Your instructions are saved.

    Note: You must repeat for all Request Actions.

Reset instructions:

  • Click Reset Template to reset the instructions back to the Cimpl default instructions.

Insert a hyperlink:

  1. Click from the toolbar. An insert hyperlink pop-up opens.
  2. Enter the URL in Web Address.
  3. Enter the link Text.
  4. Enter a ToolTip (optional).
  5. Select Open link in a new window.
  6. Click Insert. The hyperlink appears in the instructions editor.
