Financial Reports
These are reports that present and highlight key financial trends in your use of IT and telecom. Descriptions, benefits and role permissions are detailed below.
Note: Some providers do not give all of the information in their electronic invoice files, therefore, if some columns are blank (e.g. Subscriber name, text message count), this is due to the specific provider not having the information available in the electronic invoice. The information will probably be available in the provider's PDF invoices. Contact your provider if you see this information missing.

Description: Displays any three-month average that you set for all recorded details of all of your services.
Example: You select January 2019 invoice date to report on. The report contains averaged data from November 2018, December 2018 and January 2019.
Benefit: Improves your ability to identify usage and expense trends across all your services so that you can find more cost savings and optimize your processes. It can also find your highest users, and help you identify who may benefit from an additional option added to their line in order to reduce usage costs.

Description: Displays usage details for all of your services broken down by configurable time ranges and service types.
Benefit: Offers detail into the usage made by all your services
Roles: Employee, Manager, MACD, Administrator.

Description: Lists the names of users assigned to services as indicated in your inventory and compares against the information recorded on invoices.
Benefit: Helps with inventory accuracy by ensuring that the subscriber name on the carrier side is accurate and matches with the inventory record.
Roles: MACD, Administrator.

Description: Shows all the charges duplicated for a single number on the same invoice.
Tip: Ideally, this report should be empty when you run it.
Benefit: Helps you identify potential cost savings by identifying billing errors.
Roles: MACD, Administrator.

Description: Lists all the unused services for which you are paying indicates the number of consecutive months in which the services have seen on usage. Usage includes the following:
- Service has not sent/received a text message
- Service has not connected to the internet
- Service has not made or received a phone call
Benefit: Helps you identify potential cost savings if the discovered zero usage services can be canceled or reassigned. Run this report monthly & track the services which have not been used. Filter the report by the "Consecutive months" column to see how many months the service(s) have not been used for. Services that are not used in many months could be stored in a drawer somewhere, forgotten about, or not even required by the employee assigned to it. Remember to check with the provider for cancellation costs prior to disconnecting.
Tip: If you have services that are used for an on-call or emergency only, then tag the lines using the Used for in your inventory. This way, you will avoid canceling or suspending these lines even though they are not being used (these are justified zero-usage services).
If the cancellation charges are too high to warrant canceling a line, use Comments or Notes in the service inventory record to remind yourself to follow up on a particular date.
To see the amount of money being spent on having lines that are not being used:
- sum up the Total Charges column to give the total amount paid this month.
- multiply the Total Charges x Consecutive Months to give the total amount to date.
Roles: MACD, Administrator.
Columns to note:
- Consecutive months
- Total Charges
- Used for

Description: Displays all available fields from providers' electronic invoices, as well as any additional fields added in Cimpl. If you require an excel copy of your invoice data, this is the go-to report.
Note: If an active inventory item DID NOT RECEIVE an invoice in a given month, that inventory item/service WILL NOT appear in the report for that month.
Benefit: It saves you time and effort by being an excellent template for creating your own invoice reports. Many clients use this report for Accounts Payable to reconcile their invoices. Adding GL Accounts or Cost Center information to Cimpl and having it display in this report allows cost allocation, and can make Finance Department's reconciliation work much easier. Use this report to analyze your costs and usage.
Note: The Invoice Number label is only available on the Invoice Base report for some providers. Contact support for more information.

Description: Shows a detailed breakdown of the usage, overage, and costs of pooled voice, data, message, and long-distance features associated with the users in your organization. This is a point-in-time report.
By default, the report groups information by provider and type of pooling threshold to facilitate analysis.
Note: This report shows no data when no pooling parameters are defined for any contract.
Benefits: Helps you identify the breakdown of usages of pooled services among your employees, guaranteeing proper cost distribution and allowing you to find potential cost savings.
Keep in mind this report is generated based on available inventory information. It does not take into account prorated charges calculated and levied by providers.
Note: By default, the Pooling Report is only accurate when all devices or services both contribute to the allowance of pooled minutes, data, etc. and draw usage from the same pool. When devices or services draw from a pool but do not contribute to its allowance, the Pooling Report will not be accurate. In this situation, please contact your Cimpl support agent, to assess the creation of an alternate ad-hoc report or to have a Cimpl support agent login directly to the provider website to download the report for tracking purposes if you opted for a managed services plan.
Roles: MACD, Administrator.

Description: Displays charge and cost details from the invoices of your wireline services.
The different types of charges found on your wireline invoices:
- Monthly plan charge: your monthly recurring cost
- Options charge: charges relating to any options on the service
- LD charge: charges incurred from long distance calling
- Other charges: providers place "miscellaneous" charges here. This type of charge always warrants investigation/validation to ensure the charged amount is valid
- Service maintenance: charges relating to services or maintenance provided (sometimes, providers will place charges for service/maintenance under the "other charges" category which is the reason "other charges" needs to be validated at all times)
- Tax: taxes incurred on the amount invoiced
- Usage charges: any usage charges aside from long distance (you will find the usage of " * " and "900#" calls here)
Benefits: Helps you easily determine the range and patterns of your wireline costs and charges so you may better optimize wireline usage. It also gives more visibility on "other charges" in order to investigate them and dispute them with the carrier.
