Eclipse PPM Overview

Eclipse PPM is a web-based Project Portfolio Management (PPM) application that allows forward thinking organizations to align projects and project portfolios with Business Strategy, while balancing risk and reward. Navigating within Eclipse PPM is accomplished with a combination of the menus and active links.

The Navigation Menu

 

Navigation Menu:

  • Home: Eclipse PPM Home Page is a primary hub, or starting point for users to quickly see their work and collaborate as a team. The Home page is the first page a user sees when they select this item from the Navigation Menu. This allows the user to see what they need to work on, and offer them the functionality to get the work done from there or in some cases navigate to another page.
  • Followed Items: Eclipse provides the ability for a user to manage the specific items and/or resources they want to keep an eye on.
  • Recent Items: Recent Items page shows the user the most recent items that they have navigated to.
  • Dashboards: Dashboards page allows users to review the most relevant information of any project. They give access to review, monitor, and manage data from any part of the project, which enhances the overall management of projects.
  • Timesheet: Timesheet page will allow users to enter time and track effort for their resources against projects and operational tasks.
  • Resource Management: The Resource Management page allows the user to review planned and actual time for a combination of resources, projects and operational activities over a defined time period.
  • Programs: Programs are one of the key entities in Eclipse PPM. They make up the various portfolios and sub-portfolios and represent everything from a request or idea being considered through to the delivery of a product or service and tracking the benefits and outcomes of that initiative.

  • Issues: An Issue is regarded as something that has impacted a project. On the Issues page, users can manage and take action on their issues.
  • Risks: A Risk is an uncertain event or set of events which, should it occur, will have an effect on the achievement of objectives. Risks page allows users to manage and take action on their risks.
  • Tasks: A Task is an assigned piece of work to be finished within a certain time. Tasks page allows users to manage and take action on their task items.
  • Resources: Resources are used in Eclipse to identify who is working on projects and their related activity.
  • Notes: The Notes page allows users to display and review project and timesheet notes that are related to the current project.
  • Reports: Eclipse PPM provides a number of options to meet your reporting needs. These range from structured native reports to data extracts for further manipulation and formatting in Microsoft Excel.
  • Upland Analytics - View: Upland Analytics page allows you to create insightful dashboards and reports that allow the discovery of hidden insights in your data easily.
  • Approvals: The Approvals page gives users a place to manage and take action on all of their approval items across all projects.
  • Administration: Through the Administration page, Eclipse PPM Administrators can manage various administrative and configuration settings easily as per business needs.
