Document Viewers

Document Viewers allow you to view and modify documents that are stored within a file. You can set a default viewer in your User Preferences. See Edit your preferences for more information.

Note: FileBound document viewers support TIFF images up to 10200 x 13200 pixels with resolutions of 600 DPI or less.

There are two different types of document viewers available in FileBound

  • Web Viewer: The Web Viewer opens in a new tab within your browser and provides much of the same functionally as the Windows Viewer in an easy to use, updated interface. Some new functionality, such as the ability to share documents externally and edit documents in Microsoft® Office 365®, is only available in the Web Viewer. The File and Document Journals are also only available in the Web Viewer.

  • Web Viewer (Beta): A new version of the Web Viewer has been created to enhance the overall experience. You will see a significant improvement in speed and performance, especially with high-volume dividers/separators and line items. All features and fixes related to 8.3 have been made in both the Web Viewer and Web Viewer (Beta). Web Viewer (Beta) will be behind a feature flag. Reach out to your Partner Account Manager or Customer Success Manager if you would like the feature flag turned on. The Web Viewer (Beta) will be available as an option as the Default Viewer in User Preferences for those with the feature flag turned on.

Caution: With the 8.3 release, we will no longer be making enhancements to or supporting the Windows Viewer. It will still be available for use through a downloadable plug-in. Customers who are using the Windows Viewer are encouraged to start getting familiar with the Web Viewer. Documentation for the Windows Viewer is still available here.
