Publish and Unpublish Content on Kapost Cloud
Kapost allows users to host published documents, images, videos and other file types on Kapost Cloud if you do not have another hosting service. Kapost also allows Admins with publishing permissions to Unpublish documents from the Kapost Cloud. Reach out to your CSM to turn On this feature in your instance.
To learn about publishing content on other hosting services, refer to Publish Content in Studio.
Publish Content to Kapost Cloud
- Go to the content you want to publish and make sure that Kapost Cloud is configured as a primary destination.
- Once the document is ready to be published, click Publish. This opens the pop-up dialog.
- Select Kapost Cloud from the Publish to drop-down menu.
- Once all the fields are filled, click Publish Content.
Tip: To publish content at a specific time, refer to Schedule A Future Time For Content To Be Published.
- Once it is published, a tracking URL is generated that wraps the published URL you see in Kapost. You can then include this tracking URL on your landing pages, or anywhere else you would like to give people access to your document.
- To update or change the document, upload the latest version to Kapost (using the same file name as the old one) and republish that version to the Kapost Cloud. The tracking URL and published URL will not change but will now point to the latest version and there is no need to update links in Kapost or on your landing pages.
Note:
-
It is not possible to manually update the URL when the documents are published to Kapost Cloud.
-
If content is published to more than one destination, then the second destination will display as the published URL in Gallery once the content is unpublished from Kapost Cloud.
Unpublish Content from Kapost Cloud
- Go to the content you want to unpublish and locate the published URL under Kapost Cloud.
- Click Unpublish. This opens a confirmation dialog.
- Select the confirmation checkbox and click Unpublish. This removes the published URL from Kapost and Kapost Cloud.
Note:
-
Only Admins with publish permissions are able to unpublish a content.
-
Once the content is unpublished, the previously published URL will be deleted and the Bitly link will no longer open.
-
If content has been manually published, then the option to Unpublish will not be displayed.
-
Admins can track the details of who and when a content was unpublished in Member Activity page under Activity Type > Content Unpublished.
