How do I resolve a "Normalizer did not produce a PDF" error?
The error "Normalizer did not produce a PDF" is normally caused by the used printer driver. It can happen either when generating a PDF from PrintShop Mail (PPML VDX) or converting a Word Document to PDF, since both these actions use the printer driver to generate the PostScript and converts that to PDF.
In this case the PostScript driver used generates an output which is structured in a way our Normalizer (PostScript to PDF-converter) cannot handle.
Check your printer driver advanced settings for any activated options, run a test without any advanced setting enabled.
For example
When using the DocuTech 128 HLC driver, the driver generates a piece of XML in the output, which will only be understood by the DocuTech 128 HLC RIP. As a workaround for this Xerox driver, you have to disable the Job ticket option in the advanced panel. Printerdriver > Properties > Advanced > Xerox Job Ticket > Send Xerox Job Ticket When Printing: set this to DISABLED.
Intermediate file not found.
Make sure that you have enough disk space, and check the configuration of the active printer in the Page Setup dialog. The printer must be capable of printing to file. For example, "Do not send fonts" must be disabled if you are using "Adobe PDF". If necessary, select a different printer and try again.
The active printer does not appear to generate proper PostScript.
The output starts with XML data, which could indicate a job ticket. Check the configuration of the printer in the Page Setup dialog and make sure that "Send job ticket" is disabled. If necessary, select a different printer and try again.
The active printer does not appear to generate proper PostScript.
Open the Page Setup dialog and verify that the printer is capable of generating Level 2 PostScript output files. If necessary, select a different printer and try again.
